Miracle 奇蹟 is a new BL novel from Taiwanese screenwriter/author, Lin Peiyu 林珮瑜, that was released in book format on April 20, 2021. For those of you who are not familiar with this author, Lin Peiyu penned the screenplays for a few of the Taiwanese HIStory BL series (HIStory: Obsessed 著魔, HIStory2: Right or Wrong 是非, HIStory2: Crossing the Line 越界, & HIStory3: Trapped 圈套) and also the recently aired WBL series (We Best Love: No. 1 For You 永遠的第一名 & We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd 第二名的逆襲). On the day of the release of the book, the publisher uploaded a 5-minute teaser video to promote the book which got me confused thinking it was a teaser for a new TV series because it looked so real like a TV drama! That teaser video even has two theme songs, and one of the songs was uploaded last week, which I have included below.
One of the curious thing about this novel is that in 2019, after HIStory3: Trapped 圈套, they announced a new TV drama called 奇蹟 for the later part of that year, which is the same name as this novel. However that never came into fruition, instead they released HIStory3: Make Our Days Count 那一天 in October 2019. So now, it made me think whether the screenplay for 奇蹟 has now been written into this novel? However there maybe a good chance now the novel will be made into a TV series in the future. Update March 2, 2023: Good news! The drama adaptation of the novel is now a reality! The TV series based on the novel has started shooting according to this news article.
Update July 27, 2023: Here’s the first look trailer for the drama series… The official English title of the series is Dear To Me or Kiseki in Japanese and it will premiere on August 22, 2023 in Taiwan and Japan simultaneously.
By the way, there is also a Thai upcoming BL series with the same name Kiseki 奇跡 ฤดูปาฏิหาริย์, although the name in the Chinese characters are written in simplified Chinese. However this thai series is scheduled for next year, so don’t get confused!
