Random Ramblings on BL Novels – BL Novels by Priest

The Chinese “bromance” TV series, Word of Honor 山河令, which is currently being broadcast to the world on YouTube, is based on the BL novel, 天涯客 (Tianya Ke or Faraway Wanderers), written by an online novelist by the name of Priest. The TV series has been very well received, even getting a 8.6/10 ratings at Douban, and of course most of the BL fans would remember another TV series from 2018, Guardian 鎮魂 which was also based on a BL novel written by the same novelist. Therefore I thought maybe there are many viewers out there who would be interested in knowing some of the other BL novels written by this author.

I have collected the dates of the time these novels were first uploaded online, of course these do not include all the novels written by Priest, just the BL novels. If you want just lovey-dovey storylines, then these novels are not for you as you will be disappointed, because these novels are very plot and character driven stories, sometimes you even get hundred of characters (OK a bit of exaggeration, haha…) in a story and you get confused by “who is who” when you are not even halfway through if you don’t concentrate! I have read three of the novels, namely, Yishu Rensheng 一樹人生 (The lives of Yi and Shu), Dage 大哥 (Big Brother) and Modu 默讀 (Silent Reading), and I loved all three novels, especially Modu which is very complicated with so many characters in the story, and the two protagonists do not get together until the later half of the story!

For the English translated novels, you can go to Novel Updates to read, but I just casually checked before and unfortunately many of these novels are not fully translated yet, some were even neglected without any updates for many months now. However if you can read Chinese, then you are lucky, as you can easily find all the novels online.
