I have been listening to this song the past week, and it has quickly grown on me. It first caught my eyes due to its title, Grain in Ear (芒種), which is the 9th of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar created in ancient times to guide agricultural production. The arrival of Grain in Ear signifies the ripening of crops such as barley and wheat, and is a busy period for farmers. So the song is about starting over…
