These are the most streamed Mandoppop songs according to Taiwan-based music streaming service KKBox, which caters mainly to Mandarin-speaking users targeting the music markets of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and Singapore. These year-end charts for 2022 are based on songs released from December 2021 to December 2022 and streamed between January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. The date listed after each song is the month the song was released in each particular country.

Most Streamed Mandopop Songs of 2022 in Taiwan
These are the most streamed Mandopop songs in Taiwan for 2022 as released by Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube… As these international streaming platforms do not distinguish the release year of the songs, there are songs released prior to December 2021 making the Top 10 list again as did in 2021 (see the 2021’s Top 10 list here), I will just embed the songs that made the Top 10 for the first time this year…

Mom, Don’t Do That! 媽，別鬧了！ (Taiwanese Series OST)
Mom, Don’t Do That! 媽，別鬧了！ is a new 11-episode Taiwanese romcom series premiering today, July 15, 2022. It is based on a true story written into a short novel, 我媽的異國婚姻, published in 2018 about a 60-year-old widow who decides to find love again — to the joy and annoyance of her two daughters. The opening theme song (Update: Oops! This song is not from the OST, but a new single released on the same day! See update below…) is a remix of an old song from 1984 sung by Billie Wang 比莉 (王雪娥) who is also the actress playing the lead role of the mom in this new series. This new version of the song is remixed and produced by her real-life son, Nick Chou 周湯豪, a.k.a. NICKTHEREAL.
The audio version of the song was just uploaded a couple of hours ago, and the official MV will premiere at noon Taiwan time today…

Fourteen Days 14天 – Eric Chou 周興哲
Eric Chou has released a new single to thank and compensate his fans after having been forced to delay his concerts which was supposed to start on May 13, 2022 in Taipei. It is quite a folksy song with a cheerful beat… This is the second new song written by him this month following the recent release of another song he wrote for A-Lin, Best Friend 摯友… Only the audio version is available at the moment.

My Best Friend’s Breakfast 我吃了那男孩一整年的早餐 is an upcoming Taiwanese romantic movie premiering on January 28, 2022 for the Lunar New Year slot. It is based on a true story mentioned on Taiwanese social networking platform, Dcard 狄卡, in 2015 and then written into a novel in 2016 by novelist Ikumisa (尾巴Misa) which became very popular. This movie will be Taiwanese singer Eric Chou 周興哲’s first starring role in a film. Without any surprise, he will be in charge of the music for the movie.
