A new release from Jacky. The song has a bit of history as it was composed and written 7 years ago by a group of Malaysian musicians, a song that nobody wanted to record!
The music of the song was first composed by Jack Loo 呂孫傑 and Wu Guan-Yan 伍冠諺. Then Malaysian singer songwriter Yu Heng 宇珩 helped Jack to pass along the demo to lyricist Guan Qi-Yuan 管啟源 to write the lyrics. The song was later arranged by Keon Chia 佳旺 (who incidentally co-wrote the 2020’s award-winning big hit Your Name Engraved Herein 刻在我心底的名字 by Crowd Lu 盧廣仲 and also the songwriter of the recent hit Melancholy Sunshine 憂傷的晴朗 by Zhang Zhehan 張哲瀚) and Sean 王耀建. However at that time they couldn’t find anyone who wanted to record the song and it was left collecting dust ever since.
Then a few months ago Yu heard that Hong Kong music producer Michael Au 歐丁玉 was helping Jacky to look for new songs to record. She then remembered this song and asked Jack about it, but Jack had completely forgotten about the song himself! They dug out the song and sent it to Michael. When Jacky got the song and heard it for the first time, he got very emotional and felt the lyrics of the song was a timely reflection on his life and loved it. Luckily Yu remembered this unwanted song and it finally found a home in the voice of one of the kings of Hong Kong music.
