MKR 2016 Pete & Manu

How time flies, the fire in the kitchen is about to be lit for another year! The seventh series of My Kitchen Rules will premiere on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 7:30pm on Channel 7.
This year, we have been teased with promos of a new mysterious female judge to join Pete, Manu and Colin for the instant restaurant rounds. Many names have been thrown around but it looks most likely to be Rachel Khoo. Nigella Lawson is joining MasterChef Australia this year, so definitely not her; Karen Martini is already a regular judge for the Kitchen Headquarter section of the competition for years, so very unlikely; Maggie Beer, nah, silhouette in the promo does not fit, also she belongs to the MasterChef family and already a judge for the revamped The Great Australian Bake Off; Silvia Colloca? But she is doing a new cooking series for the ABC this year and she has an Italian accent; Anna Gare? Again associated with MasterChef
For me, this year may be the year I won’t be able to watch all episodes live on TV, as my TV receptions from Network 7 and 10 have been very lousy for months, so recaps/results/commentaries will be difficult, so let’s wait and see… I’ve decided I must live in the black hole area where digital TV signals are very weak, it is not as if I live in a remote area, I’m in the inner city area, for heaven sake… Some days receptions are perfectly fine, sometimes I get TV reception in the morning, but not at night, then it will go through a stretch of days, even weeks, that I have blank screens saying “No Signals”… SIGH… What are you transmitting, Network 7 and 10???
Well, fingers crossed, I’ve still got SBS to entertain me if 7 continues with its non-commitment of its TV signals to reach my TV. Watched the first episode of The Brain China (最强大脑) last Sunday on SBS2, it was jaw-dropping TV, in a good, unbelievable way – NOT like when you watch people doing stupid things. I was flabbergasted to say the least especially the first contestant who could spot the difference of one colour square among two walls of identical 2,500 Rubik’s Cubes each, that’s spotting one in 22,500 squares, within a few minutes!!! Amazing stuff!!!

This song, 說好的幸福呢 (Where’s the Promised Happiness?), by Jay Chou, also a guest judge, was featured in the piano recital by the second contestant who had to play the piano while remembering 88 random single-digit numbers corresponding to the keys notes in under 4 minutes time… AND she did not get through after getting all correct answers!!!
