After announcing that the American reality cooking show, The Taste, will air on the Nine Network earlier this year, there has not been any sign of it appearing on our TV screen, well, until now just a few days before the year runs out. With the controversy involving one of the show’s judges/mentors Nigella Lawson currently, Nine Network’s GEM, has finally scheduled season 1 of The Taste on Sunday night starting December 29, 2013 at 6:30pm. With The Great British Bake Off currently at 7:30pm, we will have two hours of import cooking competitions on Sunday night for the next few weeks over summer, at least, until series 5 of My Kitchen Rules returns to Channel 7 in approximately late January/early February.
The Taste is a reality cooking competition where contestants face rounds of cookery challenges, with the panel blind tasting just a spoonful of the food before eliminating competitors. The judges/mentors are Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre, and Brian Malarkey. Incidentally, season two of The Taste will premiere on the American ABC network on January 2, 2014.
