Wow, has it really been a year since the Herald Sun newspaper (in Victoria & the Riverina region) did the first 10-book series of the Mini Cookbook Collection from taste.com.au? Well, just a heads-up if you were one of the collectors from last year as they are doing it again this year starting this Saturday, October 15, with another 10 cookbooks.
From the advertisement, it looks like the first mini cookbook (which incidentally will be the only free one with the purchase of the newspaper, then AUD$2.95 each for the next 9 subsequent books), is going to be the cookbook from the two judges of MasterChef Australia, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris, Your Place or Mine? The second mini cookbook will be Jamie’s 30-Minute Meals from Jamie Oliver, available on Sunday, October 16.
After that, from Monday October 17 to Monday October 24, we will have to wait and see which other 8 cookbooks they are condensing this year. By the way, I hope they are also giving away the free book-holder with the first mini cookbook like they did last year.

Hahaha, I remembered last year they did the mini Jamie Oliver ad, this year it is mini George and Mini Gary…

Update October 14, 2011: Here they are, the next 8 cookbooks are from Donna Hay (Fast, Fresh, Simple), Manu Feildel (Manu’s French Kitchen), Maggie Beer (Maggie’s Harvest), Kylie Kwong (It Tastes Better), Christine Manfield (Fire: A World of Flavour), David Thompson (Thai Street Food), Suzanne Gibbs & Kate Gibbs (The Thrifty Kitchen), and Abla Amad (Abla’s Lebanese Kitchen).
