Iron Chef Australia

Channel Seven is really trying hard to cash in on the phenomenal success of MasterChef Australia on Channel Ten. They have announced the three Australian Iron Chefs for their new cooking show, Iron Chef Australia.

They are Neil Perry, Guy Grossi and Guillaume Brahimi. Let’s see, that means Neil will probably take on the role of cooking Chinese/Asian cuisine, Guy the Italian cuisine and Guillaume the French cuisine… Will this work? The original tongue-in-cheek Japanese version still has its dedicated followers on SBS ONE even on Saturday nights, but the taken-too-seriously American version on SBS ONE has never garnered a following and has since disappeared from our screen. That says something, doesn’t it? But I hope to be proven wrong and 7 will hopefully make a fun and not too serious version as I really like the three chefs they have chosen.
Add on to this new show, 7 is also making The Amazing Race Australia which is auditioning for contestants at the moment, and possibly screening next year.
